The Government Delegate of the Yaounde City Council opened the festival December 17.
The esplanade of the Yaounde Conference Centre is currently hosting an array of business and leisure activities. The occasion is the annual end-of-year festival, ‘Yaounde en Fete’ (Ya-Fe) which started last Saturday December 15 with visitors scrambling for tickets and bracelets for single and multiple entries respectively, while musicians performed.
Gilbert Tsimi Evouna, Government Delegate of the Yaounde City Council opened the show on December 17. Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Minister of Communication, Mounouna Foutsou, Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education and other dignitaries were on hand to grace the opening ceremony. They were taken on a guided to witness firsthand what the organisers have in store for the public.
Ya-Fe which is in its 13th edition is basically marked by four major activities namely, discount sales; cultural activities involving musicians, ball jugglers, urban street dance performances; fun and games; and gastronomy of a verity of cuisines and drinks. This year, a variety of entertainers such as Mr Leo, Magasco, X-Maleya, Daphne, Salatiel, Messi Ambroise, Racine Sagath, Takam II, Maahlox and Govinal, among others were invited to thrill the public.
Pierre Zumbach, President of Inter Progress, the event management organisation in charge of Ya-Fe, noted in an address that a world without artists is a dying world. He disclosed that in addition to closed to 200 businesses that signed up for the exhibition, some 50 Sma...
