U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers : Cameroon Intensify Preparations

Some 30 players are fine-tuning their skills in Yaounde ahead of the qualifier aganst Eritrea next month.

The national U-17 women’s football team continues with preparations for their double confrontation against Eritrea next month. Ahead of the qualifiers some 30 players are fine-tuning their skills in Yaounde. The training camp began on February 7 and will run till February 20, 2022. The team is training under the supervision of the head coach, Stéphane Ndzana.  As part of preparations, the Lionesses have played several friendly matches with some teams in the national women’s championship to upgrade their performances. The Lionesses played two friendly matches last weekend against Éclair de Saa and FC Ebolowa.
During the friendly against FC Ebolowa on Saturday February 12, 2022, the Lionesses were beaten 2-1 at the Omnisports Annex One Stadium. Ezeke Nanyongo Suzan scored the lone goal for the U17 Lionesses. In their second outing, the U17 Lionesses lost to Ecalair de Saa 1-2. Aboudi scored the first goal for Éclair at 18th minute while Kamieta scored the second at the 38th minute. Kameni Simo scored the lone goal for the Lionesses at the 70th minute.
