Men’s Senior Africa Nations Handball Cup : Cameroon Braces Up

Some 24 players have begun training in Yaounde ahead of the competition the will take place in Morocco from June 22 to July 2, 2022.

The 25th edition of the Senior Men’s African Nations Handball Cup will take place from June 22 to July 2, 2022 in Morocco. Ahead of the competition, the head coach of the men’s national handball team, Simon Bouchard Menguede has summoned 24 players to camp in Yaounde. The players who are all home-based were present at the headquarters of the Cameroon Handball Federation (FECAHAND) yesterday March 2, 2022 for modalities of the training session. Coach Simon Menguede said after the postponement of the AFCON IN January, the players were given some physical assignments. He said the first three days of the training session will be focused on evaluating the physical level of the players. 
Thereafter, players will be given individual physical preparations so that they can catch up with the delay since the national championship has not yet resumed. “We don’t want to be late with the preparations according to the programme at our level. The main objective of the camp is to evaluate the physical state of the players propose to each player an individual physical training programme,” he said. The players will continue with their individual preparations while waiting for next training session which will come up next month. For now the training camp is made up of home-based players.
