“Arise!” Afanyu’s new album appeals to people of the continent to count first on themselves for their development.
“I chose “Arise!” as title for the album because I believe it is time for Africans to give value to what God has blessed them with. Africa is so blessed with abundant organic music and natural resources, but we have been made to believe that we can’t make it on our own! Yet, we are the foundation on which the world now rests!” exclaims Ndi Dieudonne Kongnyu, better known artistically as Afanyu. “It is time to arise and resolve our challenges; and develop the continent with our resources. Many African artistes have been made to believe that their music is not of much worth. “Arise” is meant to remind Africans that their music is the best!” says Afanyu. Who was born on October 11, 1991 in Ntundip in Ndu Subdivision, Donga-Mantung Division in the North West Region of Cameroon.
The album contains a whopping 20 songs! Including “Homeland,” “Wab libi,” “Simbete,” “Way up,” etc. All of them traditional or folklore music. Through the album, Afanyu seeks a threefold objective.
