Waste Disposal : Public Educated Via Drama

Spectators were taken aback as suddenly three actors stormed the stage, all dressed shabbily, littering the environment and setting up tables to sell oranges, biscuits and airtime for mobile telephones. That was how the drama piece "Klaxon" began. On stage were popular names ElianeKometcho, Jules Eboko and Tina Ekambi, respectively, orange vendor, motorbike rider and callbox agents in the drama. All this took place at the Maison de la Culture et de la Danse at Bali in Douala on Saturday, June 11, 2022, the last piece to be presented during the drama festival.
Those on stage did not aim only at thrilling spectators but to also present a blend of a more decent sense of responsibility with self-duty towards their immediate environment, which will forever remind them of always keeping their surroundings clean. "Klaxon" is an analysis of life in the city of Douala, says Stephane Dipita, writer and director of the drama piece. He says the public is not just called to live together but to live together in a better way. This last piece became a conveyor of the self-challenging message for personal responsibility in hygiene and sanitation in the city.
