Fight Against Corruption : SW Treasury Staff, Business Class Coached

A one-day capacity building workshop held in Limbe recently to sharpen their skills.

The South West Regional Treasury Department has launched a salvo against corruption. This was the main focus of a one-day capacity building workshop that took place in Limbe on July 28, 2022, on the theme, “Mitigating and mastering the manifestation of corruption and related offenses and anti-corruption techniques in the Treasury.” It is expected that after the initiative, under-table practices will drastically reduce in the Services of Finance. The training workshop was opened by the South West Paymaster General, Angoula Ananias, who explained that this was the very first of the workshops in the country to be organized by the Directorate General of Treasury, Financial and Money Cooperation in the Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Ananias stated that corruption was one of the ills preventing the smooth functioning of the Cameroon economy. Government has therefore taken the drive to let everyone be aware by better understanding how it begins, how it unfolds and the devastating effects it has on both the State and the business sector.
