National Handball Championship : FANZ, FAP Champions

The finals of the national play offs took place in Yaounde on Thursday October 20, 2022.

Fondation Andre Nziko Handball Club (men) and the Armed Forces and Police Handball Club (women) all Yaounde-based teams are 2022 champions of Cameroon. This is the outcome of the final of the national handball play offs that ended at the Mfandena Gymnasium in Yaounde on Thursday October 20, 2022. Organised by the Cameroon Handball Federation (FECAHAND), the competition brought together the best teams from the national championship. For five days, Yaounde inhabitants had another opportunity to discover rich talents in the sport. 
The competition unfolded in the men’s and women’s categories. As early as 1:00 p.m. hundreds of fans from Yaounde and its environs thronged the gymnasium in order not to miss any part of the matches. In the men’s final, FANZ Handball Club beat FAP Handball Club of Yaounde 25-22 in a thrilling encounter. It was a remake of the Cup of Cameroon final a few weeks earlier. FANZ once more was able to demonstrate their superiority over FAP. At half time FANZA was leading (15-12). On resumption, FAP fought hard to catch up but FANZ was more technical in their game. FANZ carried the day beating FAP 25-22.
