MTN Elite One : APEJES Sinks Astres

APEJES of Mfou have bagged an additional three points after winning Les Astres of Douala 2-0 yesterday December 28, 2022 at the Ngoa-Ekelle stadium. Goals from Yves Eloundou (68’) and Joseph Apam (82’) sealed the victory for the Mfou-club on match day 10 of the Elite One Championship. These second half goals came as a breakthrough for Apejes that had missed several opportunities in the first half.
As early as the sixth minute of play, APEJES had begun creating openings but their attacking line managed by team captain Joseph Apam was very unconcise and lacked the aroma that could desecrate the goal area of Astres’ goalkeeper, Junior Nlend. The opportunities kept coming thanks to long balls from the wings with the midfield being almost insistent. In summary, Astres struggled to play quality football with few constructive passes but Apejes were the master of the opportunities.
