Judo : Me Ewane Essambo Is No more

“A library and a living memory of the Cameroonian judo is gone. We have lost a great person and I don’t know if he could be replaced in the minds of judokas. Me Ewane permitted us to discover the magic of judo.” Those were some of the phrases of tribute voiced by the President of the Cameroon Judo Federation, Alain Kingue, following the death of Me Ewane Essambo. The death of the emeritus judokas was announced on Monday May 15, 2023 just several months after he celebrated his jubilee.
The late Me Ewane, who according to sources died at the age 71, was an emblematic figure in judo thanks to the impact he had on the martial arts both nationally and internationally.
