2023 U-17 AFCON : Senegal Winners

Senegal is seemingly the best football nation in Africa following their recent performances in several continental showpieces. Their most recent glory is the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations title clinched on May 19, 2023. Senegal ended champions of this competition for the first time after coming from a goal down to beat Morocco 2-1. 
Skipper Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal had given Morocco a 14th minute lead. The Moroccans kept this lead and just when they thought all was working in their favour, a penalty was awarded in favour of Senegal and Serigne Falou Diouf volleyed it home at the 79th minute. Barely four minutes later, Mamadou Sawane scored the winner. The Senegalese team defended their lead until the final whistle. This occasioned widespread celebrations as Senegal marvels the continent once again.
