At a time when football stakeholders in the country are currently craving for a very competitive championship, the domestic league is rather separating with talents who would have improved the game. Amongst several reasons for this premature exodus of players, is the search for greener pastures. But what is sad about this is that it is not always that rosy on the other end. Taking a sample from the past three seasons of the championship, most of the players who have had their heads high, no longer ply their trade for the MTN Elite One competition. Some might have moved to more competitive championships than Cameroon, but others are simply jumping from one outfit to the other, yet to find a comfortable landing point.

Players’ agents often jump on the most profitable deals without envisaging where the career of the athlete is moving to.
