Bamenda Gas Plant Project : Impressive Level Of Execution

After the laying of the foundation stone of the Bamenda Liquefied Petroleum Gas Terminal  project specifically in Bamendakwe Village on November 5, 2022, work on the site has  accelerated  to about 30 per cent. The General Manager of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund (HPSF) Okie Johnson Ndoh was in Bamenda on August 24, 2023 to evaluate the level of execution of the project. After meeting with all the stakeholders and a visit to the site, the General Manager revealed that he was globally impressed with the level and arrangements done so far to combat some of the little difficulties that could delay the project. He said much has already been done within a very short time and his wish is that the project should be realised even before the stated duration of 24 months.
Okie Johnson Ndoh disclosed that the challenges mentioned; ranging from security, electricity, water and an access road were not new to him and much has been done already by the State and the Fon of Bamendankwe, to handle the situation. "That is part of what we came here for, to have an evaluation of what is going on and to get the various challenges", said Okie Johnson Ndoh. He assured the population that solutions have been put in place and it is just a matter of follow up. The HPSF’s General Manager assured the people of the region that the project is so dear to the Head of State, President Paul Biya and he is personally following it up. As such, all the difficulties will be channeled to him and immediate solutions will be made. At every stop at the site, the engineers gave a series of explanations to the satisfaction of the visiting team. 
According to Esonge Longonje, Director of JENS production Ltd, in charge of the construction work, they have been facing a few difficulties as earlier mentioned which at times causes delays.
