MTN Elite One Play-offs Down : APEJES Increases Chances

APEJES of Mfou have increased their chances of staying in the MTN Elite One championship next season. The club from Mfou beat Fovu of Baham 1-0 in a day eight match that took place at the Yaounde Omnisports Annex 1 Stadium on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Supporters thronged the entrance of the stadium early in order not to miss any part of the match. It was a tough encounter as both teams are struggling to get out of the relegation zone and stay on in the superior league. 
APEJES began well and dominated the first part of the game but they lost their scoring opportunities. Fovu Baham fought back and also lost their opportunities. Both teams separated at half time on a 0-0 score margin. On resumption, APEJES came up much stronger putting much pressure on Fovu of Baham but they squandered their chances. APEJES had a chance at the 73th minute when Yvan Noh Nafeng opened scored the lone of goal of the game. That served as a booster for APEJES players who improved on their game in a bid to score more goals. The club from the West Region played a more resistance game with a solid defence wall warding off attacks from APEJES. Fovu Baham pushed hard and made some attempts at goal but were off target. Replacements made by the coaches to bring fresh blood to the teams did not help much as each side was determined to grab the three points of the day. All efforts to increase scores were futile. At stoppage time the score board read 1-0 in favor of APEJES of Mfou.
