Limbe : Population Celebrates Victoria United Trophy

The town of Limbe was on Tuesday April 18, 2024 engulfed with joy and jubilee. Their team Victoria United (Opopo) after the 2-2 draw against Stade Renard in Stade Mbappe Lelepe in Douala crowned was crowned the champion of MTN Elite One 2023/2024 season. The victory of Opopo was not only celebrated in Limbe but across the South West Region.
As Opopo was crowned winners, the population that had gathered in bars and other entertainment spots in Limbe to watch the encounter on television vibrated the town and its sea with ululation. With their right hands on their chests and holding Opopo flag with the left hand, they sang Victoria United’s anthem and other victory songs on the top of their voices. 
Francis Ngoh, an inhabitant of Limbe, said he is overwhelmed with joy. That the manner with which Victoria United took the championship was at the edge of tension. That coming back against Stade Renard was a huge sigh of relief. He expressed gratitude to the team to have broght joy in Limbe and put their town on the limelight as far of football is concern.
