Fovu of Baham, Avion Academy of Douala, APEJES of Mfou, Aigle Royal of Menoua and UMS of Loum have already been relegated to Elite Two. Fovu and Avion were the first teams to go down the drain. The other three teams were relegated after the 11th playing day of the MTN Elite One Play-offs Down on Thursday May 2, 2024. Meanwhile, two teams have been promoted to the superior league. They are Aigle Royal of Moungo and Panthère of Nde.
The organisation of the MTN Elite One championship was not without hitches. Referees in the top flight championship were called upon to boycott the final round of championship matches across the country as part of protest against the non-payment of nine match days of games officiated in the 2023/2024 championship. Also, supporters cried foul on poor refereeing by some referees who were accused of match tricking.
