46th APPO Council Of Ministers : Financial Experts Lay Groundwork For Further Deliberation

The high-level session of the African Petroleum Producers' Organisation (APPO), holding under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, flagged off in Yaounde yesterday.

Ahead of the 46th ordinary session of the Council of Ministers of the African Petroleum Producers' Organisation (APPO) in Yaounde on Friday, experts in audit, budget and finance have harmonised their views after a keen examination of some documents. At the Yaounde Hilton Hotel yesterday, the Audit Committee of the Executive Council updated the conclusions of the last EBAC meeting, examined the statutory auditor's report for 2023 and made recommendations to the Executive Council. Meanwhile, the meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Executive Council made updates on the resolves of the EBFBC meeting, scrutinised the execution of the 2024 budget as at October 28, 2024, as well as proposal to update the budget nomenclature and reviewed the 2025 work programme and budget.
The outcome of the meetings will be tabled before the 46th ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, poised to play a vital role in the future of the African Petroleum Producers' Organisation (APPO), on Friday. This is crucial as their outcome will inform the discussions and resolutions of this session towards a meaningful impact in reinforcing the objectives and founding philosophy of the APPO.
The audit, budget and finance documents are the fruit of the 25th session held in Yaounde in March 2008. It was a landmark event where series of reforms were implemented, propelling APPO into an era of modernity and efficiency. &q...
