Bamenda II Council : Second Deputy Mayor Assassinated

The Senior Divisional Officer of Mezam Division, Simon Emile Mooh has in a press release signed on Monday, October 28, 2024 announced the killing of the 2nd Deputy Mayor of Bamenda II Subdivisional Council, Mrs Joko Frida. He said in the press release that the lifeless body of Joko Friday was found in the Nchuoboh neighbourhood   on Monday, October 28, 2024 morning.
As to the circumstances leading to the death, Mezam SDO said she was, “kidnapped by armed terrorists on October 26, 2024 about 5:30 pm in her residence at Savannah Street.”  On behalf of the government, the SDO expressed sincere condolences to the bereaved family as well as to the staff and Council authorities so hardly affected. He used the opportunity to “strongly condemn this atrocity committed against an unarmed civilian, a valiant lady who was serving her community and country with a lot of patriotism and devotion.” The press release further states that the SDO, “takes as witness the national and international community on the repeated barbaric acts of these heartless criminals…”  To pre-empt further atrocities, Civil Administrator Simom Emile Mooh called on the public officials to be vigilant.
