Social Dialogue : Partners Called To Be Patriotic, Tolerant

The Minister of Labour and Social Security was speaking at the 44th session of the social dialogue consultative and follow-up committee yesterday, March 18, 2025.
2025 will be marked by important moments in the life of the nation, amongst which the presidential, regional and staff delegates elections. According to the Minister of Labour and Social security, Grégoire Owona, all these elections call for a patriotic spirit from everybody; because participation in an election, whether, political or social is a fundamental right to each citizen. It is within this context that Minister Grégoire Owona, has called on social partners to remain vigilant against hate speech and division tendencies while contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the nation.
He was speaking yesterday March 18, 2025 during the 44th session of the Social Dialogue Consultative and follow-up Committee meeting in Yaounde. The Minister said indeed, the social partners which are employers and workers alike, have a crucial role to play in preserving peace through social dialogue. According to the Minister, peace is a determinant element for the development and stability of a country for it allows citizens to live in a secure environment, work and prosper without fear of violence or conflict. The social partners were reminded of the necessity to strengthen the discourse of tolerance, understanding, consultation and consensus.
