Health Management Systems : Cameroon, Global Fund Take Stock

An audience to that effect took place yesterday between Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute and the Head of the Grant Management Division, Mark Edington on April 8, 2025.


Exploring ways of improving the health system in Cameroon, especially in the fight against diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis and malaria came under discussion between the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute and the Head of the Grant Management Division of the Global Fund for the Fight Against HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Mark Edington. This was in the course of an audience at the Star Building on April 8, 2025. 
Stating that he had a productive conversation with the Prime Minister, the senior staff at the Global Fund added that they also spoke about the Global Fund’s investments in Cameroon over the last 20 years. The investments of the institution amounts to over one billion dollars in HIV, tuberculosis, malaria and health systems strengthening in the country during the aforementioned timeframe. “We also spoke about the challenges that we need to overcome together, making sure that the government of Cameroon continues to meet its co-financing obligations which is a particular concern following some of the US government cuts in the country. We spoke about the need to work together on improving the supply chain management system,” he stated.
