Artificial Intelligence In Media : Practitioners Acquire Best Practices From China

The seminar on radio and TV for senior techniques management from developing countries drew curtains on April 29, 2025 in Beijing, China.

Some 35 media professionals drawn from developing countries around the world have concluded a two-week training on senior techniques management for Radio and Television. The training focused mainly on the use of digital technology in radio and TV broadcasting with artificial intelligence taking centre stage. Participants from Nigeria, Lesotho, Mauritius Island, Indonesia, Egypt, The Maldives, Fiji Islands and Cameroon were taken to the field to various media organisations and other companies in the domain of digital equipment to touch the Chinese technological evolution reality with their fingers. Participants visited the Sichuan Radio and TV Station and Panda Wandering in Chengdu, Tonhzchou Media Centre in Beijing to have a first-hand experience on the use of new technology (artificial) intelligence in broadcasting.  They also were amazed by the exploits of an AI company (IFLYTEK) that specializes in the production of AI equipment used in broadcasting. Also, trainees were also drilled on media convergence with a growing use of social media platforms by different media outlets to capture audiences. Each of the radio and TV station, we learnt, has created separate newsrooms dedicated for the creation and production of online content disseminated via their various online platforms.
