Nigeria : President Tinubu Promises Better Welfare For Troops

This was during an unannounced visit on May 1, 2025 to Nigerian troops on the frontline of Operation Fansar Yamma in Katsina State.
President Bola Tinubu has charged Nigerian military and paramilitary forces to remain resolute in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and insurgency, describing their efforts as a battle for the soul of Nigeria. Speaking to troops at the Katsina Airport on Thursday, May 1, 2025 during an unannounced visit to troops on the frontline of Operation Fansar Yamma in Katsina State, President Tinubu lauded their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to national security, assuring them of the federal government’s full support in terms of advanced equipment, intelligence, logistics, and welfare. “You are the shield of Nigeria,” he declared. “Every terrorist you neutralize, and every community you secure is a victory for justice, freedom, and the future of our children.”
The Commander-in-Chief assured the armed forces of improved welfare packages, including housing, insurance, and family support systems, adding that no sacrifice made in service to the nation would go unnoticed. President Tinubu urged the troops to remain focused and determined, stating, “This is not just about territory, it is a battle for the soul of our nation. I am with you today, tomorrow, and always.” He ended the address with a solemn prayer for the safety of the troops and the unity and prosperity of Nigeria.
