Youzou Basketball Championship : FAP, BEAC Emerge Champions

The 13th and 14th playing days of the men’s and women’s Youzou Elite Basketball Championship took place at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex last weekend. Organised by the Cameroon Basketball Federation, the competition brought together teams from across the country. The competition that lasted for two days equally marked the end of the season for basketball in Cameroon. It was an opportunity for Yaounde inhabitants to discover new techniques in the sport and other young aspiring players to develop interest in basketball. It was equally an opportunity to detect talents. Several matches were on programme during the two-day event. 
In the women’s final, Overdose Yaounde beat Moung Zone 94-49 during the 14th playing day. Wando Marvis had the best performance in the encounter scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. FAP Yaounde beat University of Douala Basketball Club 69-41. Pius Beggi scored 23 points, two rebounds and four assists. Ornyx Yaounde outplayed United Ladies of Douala 65-59.
