Inter-Schools Cricket Bonanza : Lycée Anguissa, Faith Bilingual Winners

Over 400 youths from primary and secondary schools in Yaounde took part in the competition at the Lycée Leclerc playground in Yaounde on May 3, 2025.
The campus of the Lycée Général Leclerc in Yaounde was the venue of the Inter-Schools Cricket Jamboree that took place on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Organised by the Cameroon Cricket Federation, the competition brought together over 400 youths from primary and secondary schools in Yaounde. The children participated in several activities to mark the day. The main activity of the day was the Inter-schools cricket tournament. The competition unfolded in the men’s and women’s categories. Inhabitants of Yaounde and its environs came out in their numbers to watch the event which was equally an inspiration for other youths.
In the women’s final, Faith Bilingual College thrashed College Montesquieu 85-31 to lift the trophy. In the men’s competition, Lycée Anguissa beat College Siantou 72-71 to emerge champions. Last weekend’s competition was particular as it was an opportunity to detect young talents to join teams at the upcoming Cricket Domestic Competitions and eventually into the under teens national teams. Trophies and gifts were awarded to players who distinguished themselves in the competition.
Speaking at the occasion, the President of FECACRICKET, Victor Agbor Nso said it is the third activity for the year. He said through the competition, the federation is preparing a nursery for future players. “We will have a men’s, men’s youth national teams notablyU13, U15, U17 and U15 teams,” he said.
