Social Compliance of Projects : User’s Handbook Presented To Stakeholders

The 110-page document explains the methodology and procedure in managing social and human risks in any project.

 Social Affairs Minister, Pauline Iréne Nguene, has presented to the international community and especially to technical and financial partners, a set of social measures taken at the institutional, legal, and technical levels to control and mitigate the human and social risks of projects. This was during the presentation ceremony of the social guide for project management resulting from interregional consultations, yesterday, May 6, 2025 in Yaounde. 
The 110-page document prepared by the National Brigade for the Control of the Social Compliance of Projects at the Ministry of Social Affairs seeks to ensure that all programmes and projects promote the social well-being of impacted local populations.
Minister Pauline Iréne Nguene said it was important to improve stakeholders' knowledge of the issue of social compliance of projects and to report on the results of the inter-regional consultation workshops. This, especially as partners are sensitive to the protection of vulnerable targets against the harmful consequences of the implementation of projects in the country. “They offer assistance which has as obligation, the respect of the prescribed social norms and directives”, Minister Pauline Iréne Nguene noted.
Users of the document will be able to master the specific terminology used in human and social risk management, identify the pillars and recognise the markers of human and social risks in projects as well as know how to use the social compliance control reference grid for an objective assessment of the project's social situation.
