Archery : 2025 Sports Season Launched

The Cameroon Shooting Federation (CSF) has kicked off the 2025 archery season with renewed energy and determination to elevate the sport’s status in the country. Trainers and athletes from all ten regions gathered for the launch, ready to make their mark.
Archery is a sport of focus and precision, where athletes, called archers, use bows to shoot arrows at a round target. The closer an arrow lands to the center (the bullseye), the higher the score. Archery requires intense concentration, body control, and steady hands, often compared to meditation in motion.
One of the rising stars in this discipline is Sandra Melono, who has already won two medals in just two years. Now transitioning into the senior category, she says she started out of love for the sport: “I didn’t know much about archery, but I loved it from the beginning. It was a passion, now it’s my sport.”
