2025 GCE Session : Over 213 370 Candidates on Starting Block

The candidates are taking the examination nationwide in 493 accommodation centres with seven new subjects introduced out of 216 that will be tested.

The 2025 session of examinations organised by the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board (CGCEB) begins today June 3, 2025 throughout the national territory. The candidates are sitting  four examinations organised by the CGCE Board distributed as follows; GCE Ordinary Level 105,091, TVEE Intermediate Level 23,821, GCE Advanced Level 73,635 and TVEE Advanced Level 10,831. All these bring to the starting block a total of 13, 378 candidates for the 2025 session. This is against 196,357 candidates in 2024, giving an increase of 17,021 candidates in absolute terms and 8.67 per cent in relative terms. 
Beginning from 8 A.M, Ordinary Level candidates will take History paper I while art candidates at Advanced Level will have History paper I and their science counterparts will have Chemistry I. Then those of the technical and vocational education will have Professional Marketing Practice I and II among others.
Seven new subjects shall be tested in this 2025 examination session. They are grouped under two specialties: Agriculture – poultry production, and Civil Engineering – tiling. Both will be tested at TVEE Intermediate Level. In all, the CGCE Board will for this 2025 examination session assess 216 subjects in the different examinations centres of the Anglophone sub-system of education in Cameroon.
