Enterprise Creation : Youths Drilled On Actionable Steps

Close to 100 learners from the National Advanced School of Engineering (ENSPY) in Yaounde gathered on May 28, 2025 at the school campus to partake in an entrepreneurship conference under the theme: “From the idea to the creation of an innovative enterprise: challenges and solutions.” This was under the patronage of the Rector of the University of Yaounde I, Prof. Rémy Magloire Etoua. The guest of honour was the Resident Representative of the African Institute for ICTs (IAI) in Cameroon, Armand Claude Abanda. The lessons were given in two phases: theory and practical phase. 
The Phase one consisted telling the learners essentials about creating an enterprise including: finding a useful idea which is original and realistic, carrying out a market study, drawing a business plan, registering the business and then launching the enterprise proper. The practical phase was more of experience-sharing with the panellists. Armand Claude Abanda recounted how he opened a branch for the IAI from scratch as a young student back from IAI Libreville with the faith, passion and determination to succeed. He equally encouraged them to leverage social media and artificial intelligence tools at their disposal to ease the enterprise creation and management process. “Many youths have ideas but fail at the stage of turning them into long term businesses. They should properly manage their resources by using social media as a good channel to increase visibility,” said Armand Claude Abanda.
