2025 Cup of Cameroon : Stage Set

The road to the 2025 Cup of Cameroon crown began to shape up on May 30, 2025 as the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) conducted the draw for the 32nd finals of the prestigious competition. The ceremony, held at FECAFOOT headquarters in Tsinga, Yaounde, set the stage for what promises to be an enthralling edition of the national football cup. Despite awaiting the full roster of regional representatives, FECAFOOT moved forward with the draw. The event saw the presence of some club presidents in the football governing body's conference room, all keenly observing the process that will shape their teams' immediate future in the competition.
This year's Cup of Cameroon is expected to deliver its usual dose of surprises, with observers noting the significant improvement in the quality of play among amateur clubs. This enhanced competitiveness suggests that no fixture can be taken lightly, even by the more established teams.  Among the standout matchups revealed in the draw, FC Yaoundé II is set for a "heated battle" against Sahel FC of Maroua. The young team from the Far North Regional League will undoubtedly be eager to make a statement against an Elite Two side like YAFOOT. Similarly, Stade Renard of Melong will need to be at their best when they face Fako United, the representative from the South West region. Atlantic Sport of Kribi will test their mettle against Stade FC of Bandjoun. However, the fixture generating the most buzz is undoubtedly the showdown between Dynamo Douala and Victoria United. This match holds a special impact as it is the only encounter in the 32 finals featuring two Elite one clubs.
With the quality of participating teams seemingly on the ascent, this edition of the Cup of Cameroon promises to be even more enticing. It should be recalled that Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo are the reigning champions.
