Crusade for Press Freedom : Charlie Ndi Chia Launches Powerful Memoir

“Ink In My Blood” paints a story of resilience, perseverance and strong belief in the power of the media.

Veteran Cameroonian journalist, Charlie Ndi Chia, unveiled his long-awaited memoir, “Ink in My Blood”, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Catholic University Institute of Buea. The event gathered colleagues, admirers, and literary enthusiasts to honour more than just a book but it also celebrated a lifetime dedicated to fearless journalism.
In his speech, Ndi Chia reflected, “I am humbled by the journey chronicled in Ink in My Blood—a path of grit, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to truth.”
Insightful reviews by media veterans Enow Chris Oben and Victor Epie Ngome added depth to the launch. They described the memoir as both a personal testimony and a lasting contribution to Cameroonian journalism. “It lays bare the professional and personal trials of one of Cameroon’s boldest journalists,” noted Ngome.
Fondly known as “Uncle Charly,” Ndi Chia’s work resonated with the audience, reminding them of journalism’s power and responsibility.
