China-Africa Cooperation Forum : Upholding Solidarity, Mutual Partnership

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella, took part in the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) that held in Changsha, China from June 11-15, 2025. It was co-chaired by the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi and the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Congo, Jean-Claude Gakosso (the African co-chair of the FOCAC). At the end of deliberations on June 15, 2025, the China-Africa Changsha Declaration on Upholding Solidarity and Cooperation of the Global South was issued during the meeting.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the opening ceremony read out the congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping of China which provided an insightful elaboration on the significance of China-Africa solidarity and cooperation, and announced China's important measures to further expand openness and cooperation with Africa. He notes that FOCAC has helped delivered important guidance for China and Africa to jointly advance modernization and build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. “Since its establishment 25 years ago, FOCAC has grown rapidly, driving China-Africa relations to achieve leapfrog development and ushering in their best period in history. The FOCAC Beijing Summit held in September last year marked the beginning of a new journey for jointly building a China-Africa community with a shared future,” highlighted the message of President Xi Jinping.
