Voters Registration : Last Minute Affluence In Douala

Prior to the convening of the electorate by a Presidential decree on 11 July, ELECAM offices in Douala were flooded with people who wanted to register themselves. The Douala V ELECAM office was busy as people turned out in large numbers to register. ELECAM officials confirmed that the influx had been heavy for the last two months prior to the convening of the electorate. According to Samuel Ewoudou Bikirth, the head of the Douala V ELECAM branch office, they were receiving between 700–800 people daily, and by 6 July 2025, they had registered 31,397 new voters. He said that there was a lot of enthusiasm among the population.
