Candidacy Files : Presidential Hopefuls Inquire Information

The Commission in charge of the reception of candidacy files at Elections Cameroon received six aspirants yesterday July 14, 2025, all seeking electoral information.

Following the convening of the electorate for the election of the President of the Republic on October 12, 2025, the elections management body, immediately set up a Commission in charge of the reception of candidacy files. They began work on Saturday July 12, 2025 at 8:00 a.m and has as Chairperson, Susan Epiepang. They are expected to work on a daily basis and close at midnight on July 21, 2025, the last date for the receipt of files, according to Section 123 of the Electoral Code which states that candidates have ten days to submit their candidacy papers ten days after the convening of the Electoral College.
A visit by Cameroon Tribune to the head office of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), met members of the Commission working. The President, Susan Epiepang said they had, as at July 14, 2025 received just one candidacy file and six other aspirants had shown up to inquire some information on electoral operations. All the six persons received were independent candidates, five of them on behalf of their candidates, and one person on his own account. Mbolong Etienne Brice was one of the Presidential hopeful who came to get the information for himself, as well as Dr Jacques Bouhga Hagbe. The latter in his statement to the press said he would submit his files in due course and only came to inquire information from Elections Cameroon. He said he would only disclose the party which will put forth his candidate when he comes to submit his files.
