North West Economic Forum : Foundation For Rebranding, Economic Growth

The maiden edition of the North West Economic Forum took place in Bamenda on July 12-13, 2025 under the esteemed patronage of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.

The North West Region that has suffered from instability, economic decline, infrastructure degradation and mass displacement due to the security crisis in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon, is now resolutely determined to rise, rebrand, revive its economy and move forward in development. This explains the maiden edition of the North West Economic Forum that held on July 12 and 13, 2025 in Bamenda convened by the Regional Assembly on the theme, “From resilience to renaissance; strategies for the economic transformation of the North West Region.”
North West Regional Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique represented the President of the Republic Paul Biya under whose high esteemed patronage the forum took place. The event brought together over 1,000 participants from government and private sectors, Chief Executive Officers, development partners, civil society and diaspora. After the forum, the economic transformation of the North West Region is expected to follow suit considering the foundation laid on the roadmap for the transformation. The themes of five strategic panels provided an occasion to address key challenges and chart the way forward for the region’s economic revival by the populations of the North West themselves.
