Artificial Intelligence : Youths Gain Skills

Over twenty young people from different parts of Cameroon have taken part in the final phase of the 2025 edition of the Sofia Naim Khan (SNK) challenge in Douala. The challenge that ran from July 15 to 18, was an initiative for free training on artificial intelligence organised by the Sofia Naim Khan (SNK) Foundation.
The over twenty young Cameroonians, including students, young professionals, and entrepreneurs received lessons to better their understanding and challenges of AI. For four days, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, its concrete applications in daily life, and its implications in strategic sectors such as health, agriculture, finance, and education. They also designed innovative projects that they plan to develop using this technology.
During the closing ceremony on Friday, July 18, the SNK representative, Mariama Doubaye, emphasized the program's philosophy, stating that "We have offered you possibilities which you can pursue to move forward". She called for personal commitment to fully leverage the opportunities presented by AI.
The guest of honour at the event actress and entrepreneur Muriel Blanche praised the participants' involvement. She said that the program was well designed to support the youths to ensure that they meet up with the innovations of AI. She urged the young people to use the artificial intelligence wisely and positively.
