UB In China ICT Competition

- One of University of Buea (UB) Faculties was part of team Cameroon that emerged second in the global stage of Huawei ICT competition in Shenzou, China. Two students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) of the University of Buea with their team mate from the Ecole National Superier Polyphonic Yaounde who made up team Cameroon has flown high the national flag in Shenzou, China. They won the second prize at the global stage of Huawei ICT competition in Shenzou, China. The competition which ran from May 20 to 27, 2025, assembled170 teams from across the world. This earned them bronze medal. They were given diverse ICT gadgets. The laureates are also entitled to pre-employment internship and jobs at Huawei. The UB laureates are Soyang Thierry Ngong and Djoumessi Nguefack Ivan. The winners are of network track. Network is a domain in IT and the network track is the category in the ICT completion for those in the networking technology.  
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof Agbor Dieudonne Agbor, on Friday June 13, 2025, indication that FET is a fine breeding ground for ICT in Cameroon. That this will enhance the FET reputation, attract top students for the faculty while opening more doors for an increase and industrial partnership. It will equally serve as a source of inspiration to other students.
