Promoting Children’s Education : CERAC Offers Didactic Materials At Elig-Mfomo

The Deputy Coordinator of the Association, Odile Eyebe Ayissi handed over the gifts on July 25, 2025.

Within the context of promoting the rights of children to education, as a means of safeguarding a bright future for them, the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC) on July 25, 2025 handed over some didactic materials to the educational community of Elig-Mfomo Subdivision, Lekie Division of the Centre Region. The gesture is aimed at facilitating back-to-school preparations in the locality while upholding inclusive education.  The Head of the CERAC delegation at the event was the Deputy Coordinator of the humanitarian association, Odile Eyebe Ayissi. About 20 primary and secondary schools benefitted from the gesture and the items included computers, solar lamps, cantons of books with the effigy of the First Lady, cantons of pens, pencils, sharpeners, rulers and A4 papers. Both teachers and students are beneficiaries of the gifts from the Association founded by the First Lady, Chantal Biya. 
Handing over the didactic material, the CERAC delegation leader encouraged good use and noted that they were at Elig-Mfomo to renew their engagement towards the wellbeing of the children of the area, especially in the domain of education. With Cameroon having joined other countries on the continent to commemorate the 43rd edition of the African Child on June 16, 2025 under the theme, “Planning and Budgeting for Children's Rights: Progress since 2010,” she noted that it was time for concrete action to that effect. With the month of June being an examination period in the academic calendar of Cameroon, the association did not want to disturb students, hence the reason of handing the gifts on the eve of back-to-school. Odile Eyebe Ayissi added that CERAC has in the last 30 years be working at promoting the education of children and and providing assistance to the vulnerable population. 
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ebene Marcellibne, a student, thanked CERAC for their generosity, stating that the dream of every child is to go to school and become responsible in life.
