Electoral Operations : Prioritising Inclusiveness, Peace

As the date for the Presidential polls draws closer with the coming weeks becoming more decisive and demanding, members of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon meeting in a session as of right on August 12, 2025 have called on Cameroonians to respect the values of peace and democracy so as to make the electoral process a success. The session was presided at by the Chairperson of the Electoral Board, Dr. Enow Abrams Egbe, who also took stock of the activities of the institution since the convening of the electorate. He also mentioned that the the session was essentially dedicated to the acknowledgement of the decisions rendered by the Constitutional Council on petitions filed against the resolution of the Electoral Board to draw up and publish the list of accepted candidates in view of the October election. 
As concerns the next plan of action of the Board, he said a national consultation between Elections Cameroon and other stakeholders in the electoral process is planned in the coming weeks as part of the preparations for the electoral campaign. “The primary objective of this national consultation is, as per tradition, to create an inclusive and constructive dialogue platform among political parties, civil society, the media, traditional and religious authorities, administrations, and the electorate. The ultimate goal is to ensure a credible, secure, inclusive, and peaceful election throughout the national territory, including in areas facing major security constraints,” Dr. Enow Abrams Egbe stated.
