Youth Connekt Cameroon : Harnessing AI Better Empowerment

The curtains have finally fallen on the 2025 Youth Connekt Cameroon Convention, held in Yaounde from December 8 to 13, 2025. The gathering of young innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders marked a significant milestone in the nation's endeavors to join the potential of its youth, focusing on the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in driving socio-economic development. The event's proceedings centered on the theme, “Artificial Intelligence and Socio-Economic Integration of Young People: Opportunities and Challenges.” 
During the closing ceremony, chaired by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, tribute was paid to the energy, passion, and dedication exhibited by young people, both domestically and internationally, throughout the convention. The Minister saw this as a clear indication that they are well-positioned to propel the nation's development forward. He announced that approximately FCFA 500 million had been awarded to young entrepreneurs through the FOGAJEUNE initiative, citing this as evidence of the efficacy of strategic partnerships. “As we look to the future, I urge all stakeholders to redouble their efforts in implementing the National Programme for Civic Education and strengthening the network of partners supporting youth empowerment initiatives,” Minister Mounouna Foutsou emphasized. 
Over the six-day period, participants engaged in a range of activities, including discussions, workshops, and exhibitions, as they shared insights and best practices on harnessing the potential of AI to address pressing socio-economic challenges and unlock new opportunities.
