Commonwealth Exhibition Village: Stakeholders Highlight Potentials

Within the framework of activities to commemorate the 2026 edition of the Commonwealth Day, a Commonwealth Exhibition Village was set up at the Yaounde Town-hall esplanade to highlight the product and content of the Gentlemen’s Club. The two-day exhibition village that was opened by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu on March 2, 2026 and closed yesterday served as a platform for Ministries, Diplomatic Missions, government institutions, private entities and start-ups, to build strategic connections and engage in constructive discussions that inspire values of the Commonwealth of Nations. During the two days, Minister Mbayu visited every exhibition stand, appreciating what they offer to the public, notably in sectors that align with the Commonwealth policies as well as national priorities. The fair, amongst other things, highlighted youth empowerment, innovation, and cultural exchange under the theme of this year’s edition; "Unlocking Opportunities Together for a Prosperous Commonwealth.” Various exhibitions promote Commonwealth values and principles, entrepreneurship, excellence, advocacy and awareness raising while working towards enhancing cooperation to address shared challenges. Going by the Director of the Commonwealth Department at the Ministry of External Relations, Anne Oben, by organising a Commonwealth Exhibition Village, they are fundamentally convinced that they are encouraging discovery, crucial meetings and engagement that could unleash important and beneficial partnerships.
