U-17 AFCON: Cameroon Inherits Group B

Months after the 2025 senior men’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Cameroon will meet Côte d’Ivoire again; this time in the U-17 category. The Cadet Lions were drawn into Group B alongside Côte d’Ivoire, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, set for May 13 to June 2, 2026, in Morocco. The draw ceremony yesterday April 8, 2026 in Cairo, Egypt marked the start of the journey toward the tournament, with the 16 teams divided into four groups. Cameroon inherited Group B, where the most anticipated match will pit the Cadet Lions against Côte d’Ivoire. This clash involves two former champions: two-time winners Cameroon (2003 and 2019) while the Ivoirians lifted the trophy in 2013. Another highlight in the group will be the Central African derby between Cameroon and DR Congo.
