Commonwealth Regional Anti-Corruption Conference: Logistical Arrangements On Good Footing

Protocol and visa modalities for delegates as well as the general management of the event were discussed yesterday April 27, 2026 at the Ministry of External Relations.
Less than a week to the 16th Commonwealth Regional Conference of Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Africa, to be hosted by Cameroon from May 4-8, 2026, in Yaounde, logistic arrangements are said to be smooth. The Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC), Rev. Dr. Dieudonné Massi Gams in his capacity as head of the host institution was at the Ministry of External Relations, yesterday April 27, 2026 to discuss visa modalities for delegates who are coming from other countries as well as the general protocol around the event. He was thus received in audience by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, who assured him that the role of government is to facilitate the smooth organisation of the conference. Indeed, three main items were discussed during the onehour audience and there were, protocol arrangements, visa requirements and the management of the event through the issuance of invitation to High Commissioners and the diplomatic corps. Minister Mbayu assured the Chairman that there are basically no issues with regards to visa requirements as the e-visa platform functions normally. He reiterated the availability of the Ministry to facilitate the entry, stay and exit of foreign delegates in the regional confab that holds under the theme, “Deploying Artificial Intelligence in the Fight Against Corruption in Commonwealth Africa”. In his statement to the press after the audience, the Chairman of CONAC noted that he briefed the Minister about the programme of the meeting that will bring over 200 delegates from 25 countries in Africa. To him, the role of the Commonwealth cannot be over emphasized especially given the fact that the international organisation was involved in the establishment of CONAC and Elections Cameroon (ELECAM). “The fight against corruption in Cameroon and Africa, cannot take place without the Commonwealth ...
