Promoting Good Governance: Campaign Widens In North West

Officials of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region were recently at the Presbyterian Church Ntamulung in Bamenda.

Christmas of the Presbyterian Church in Ntamulung in Bamenda have accepted to act as relays between the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (OPIC) for the North West Region and the population so that the people can benefit adequately from the services of the Regional Assembly and local councils while effectively carrying out their responsibilities. Officials of the Office of the PIC took the awareness campaign to the Christians of this denomination on June 16, 2026. The Christians through the different presentations, learned of the creation of the Office of the PIC, its missions, what is expected of the North West Regional Assembly and the 35 Councils in the North West Region, the role of the population in causing the councils to deliver better and satisfactory services, accelerate local equitable development, the responsibilities of the population and how to lodge complaints at the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator. The presentations were followed by an intense period of questions and answers. At the end of the session, the Office of the PIC team leader Nina Ambuban who is Research Officer No. 5 in the institution while talking to the press expressed satisfaction. She said the choice of faith-based institutions to which the Presbyterian Church Ntamulung belong was motivated by the fact that these organizations are deeply rooted in communities. Most people trust in the institutions which the Office of the OPIC officials believe can be a better platform to meet all categories of persons in the society.
