Cameroon-Canada: Migration Issues Discussed

Global migration issues and the management of refugees came under discussion at the Ministry of External Relations in the course of an audience the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, granted the Under Minister of International Affairs, Crisis Management, Immigration, Refugees and Citizens of Canada, Jennifer Maclyntre on February 17, 2025. Accompanied by the Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Lorraine Anderson, the Canadian official is in Cameroon within the framework of the “Destination Canada” initiative which seeks to educate foreigners on travelling to Canada. Prior to the event which holds today February 18, 2025 in Douala, Littoral Region, the Under Minister was at the Ministry of External Relations to present an overview of the programme and exchange views on global migration issues with the Minister. “It is my first time in Cameroon, and it is a pleasure to be here for ‘Destination Canada’ which holds in Douala. I had an excellent exchange with the Minister Delegate on the global migration trends and the incredible partnership that Canada and Cameroon have in terms of bilateral relations and on migration,” Jennifer Maclyntre told reporters shortly after the audience.
