Fight Against HIV/AIDs: African Synergy Distributes Sensitisation Materials

The event, yesterday November 19, in Yaounde highlighted the First Lady’s commitment against the pandemic.

In the lead-up to World AIDS Day on December 1st, the Pan-African NGO, African Synergy Against AIDS and Suffering, handed over sensitisation materials to some 100 schools and associations in the country on November 19, 2025. The event which took place yesterday, November 19, 2025 aimed to enhance the capacity of these institutions to inform, educate, and raise awareness about HIV/AIDS risks, particularly among young people. Amongst the sensitisation materials distributed were documentations on SITs, HIV/AIDS, drugs as well as demonstration kits for correct condom use. The Executive Secretary of African Synergy, Jean Stéphane Biatcha, in his remarks highlighted the organisation's achievements over the past 23 years and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the fight against AIDS with the goal of breaking the chain of HIV transmission and ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. The Executive Secretary emphasised that the ceremony served as a poignant reminder that the fight against AIDS necessitates collective action and solidarity. He reiterated that considerable progress remained to be made in order to meet the 2030 goal of ending AIDS. “The situation of young people, particularly girls, remains a pressing concern,” Biatcha stated.
