Cameroon's performance lacked intensity, leaving the Lions incoherent and vulnerable as key players struggled to assert themselves, though glimpses of hope emerged in the second half.
André Onana: The captain rose to the occasion, making crucial saves against Angola. His late first-half stop preserved a draw going into halftime, and he thwarted multiple unexpected shots in the second half to keep the team in the game.
Jackson Tchatchoua: An overall quiet night. He fulfilled a few of his defensive duties and occasionally advanced forward but was sometimes late to react to the ball.
Jean-Charles Castelletto: Returning to the starting XI, he was dependable in defense despite occasional hesitations in passing. His partial-solid performance justified his place in the starting lineup.
Mohamadou Nagida: Dominated most of his duels and demonstrated strong potential. His pace and well-placed crosses created scoring opportunities, though minor mistakes slightly affected his impact.
Nouhou Tolo: Though not flawless, Nouhou gave his all throughout. Deployed again as a central defender, he delivered a crucial headed attempt; the team’s first shot on goal; and excelled defensively by winning most duels and clearing dangerous threats.
Arthur Avom: A slow start was followed by a better second half where he crafted few chances and unleashed a few powerful shots. He was subbed off for Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, who had little time to influence the match.
André-Franck Zambo Anguissa: Like Avom, he was subdued in the first half but showed more presence afterward. He recovered several balls and his dribbles and shots showed promise, yet the midfield overall failed to link defense and attack effectively.
