2026 Women’s AFCON Qualifiers : Lionesses Gear Up In Douala

Following the 1-2 loss to Algeria in the away leg in Oran, the Cameroonian team has already begun intensively fine-tuning their skills for the return leg scheduled for October 28, 2025.

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have regrouped in Douala to prepare intensively for the decisive return leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Algeria on October 28, 2025 at the Douala Reunification Stadium. This follows their narrow 1-2 defeat in the first leg of the last round qualifiers in Oran on October 23, 2025.
The team arrived back home late Friday night into early Saturday, immediately focusing on sharpening their tactics and fitness to overturn the deficit. With only a slim margin separating them from qualification, the Lionesses know this encounter demands their best performance. They face a critical challenge to secure victory on home soil and book their place in the prestigious tournament to be held in Morocco next year.
According to information on FECAFOOT’s official Facebook page, the Lionesses held their first training session on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Bonamoussadi Stadium, with a follow-up session planned for the following day to fine-tune their game plan and team cohesion.
