2026 Women’s AFCON: Lionesses Set For Acclimatisation

T he 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) is less than two weeks away and the 16 partici­ pating teams, including the Indo­ mitable Lionesses of Cameroon, are all dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s for an honourable perfor­ mance. It is against this backdrop that the Cameroonian team, which has been undergoing comprehen­ sive training at home, decided to jet off for Morocco on July 14, 2026 to begin an acclimatisation camp. For their departure, the Lionesses were pictured in an eye-catching attire conceived by Cameroonian Stylist, El Dabo. The energy ema­ nating from the attire was evidently a sign that the team is ready for the competition. The acclimatisation exercise will no doubt greatly help the players adapt to the environ­ ment as they will train and probably play friendlies. Placed in Group D and based in Ca­ sablanca, the Lionesses will prepare until their first game against Mali on July 29, 2026 at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
