From markets to different street corners, vacation is now work season for many students.
I n Douala, the long holiday has become a working season for thousands of students. Instead of resting, they are in markets, workshops, as well as hawking the streets in raising money for the next academic year. Be it at Marché Central, Marché Sandaga, Marché Congo, and el sewhere, secondary school students sell different articles including food items, clothes, belts, shoes just to name a few. As early as 7 am, students could be seen selling. "I sell sandals and t-shirts. My parents can’t pay eve rything at once, so I decided to help myself", said Rosalie Tankeu a Form 5 student.
