Cameroon-Egypt Relations: More Prospects In Horizon

W ithin the framework of further intensifying co­ operation ties between Cameroon and Egypt for the mutual benefits of the two peoples, External Relations Mi­ nister, Mbella Mbella, yesterday September 8, 2026 held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt in charge of African Affairs, Mohamed Karim Sharif. He is on a two-day wor­ king visit in Cameroon and head of a delegation of other officials in the health and infrastructure sectors, notably Arab Contrac­ tors. He was accompanied to the audience by the Ambassa­ dor of Egypt to Cameroon, Marwa Hegazy. In his declaration to journalists after the audience, the Egyptian Deputy Minister said they dis­ cussed possible areas of streng­ thening collaboration. “We have discussed the possibility of in­ creasing the training courses, reinforcement of capacities co­ operation in health and medical systems and infrastructure as I am here with a representative from Arab Contractors Com­ pany,” Mohamed Karim Sharif said. He further revealed that his delegation will be meeting with the Ministers of Transport, Agriculture, and Small and Me­ dium-sized Enterprises to dis­ cuss projects in the concerned sectors. With regards to eco­ nomic affairs and investment opportunities, the Egyptian se­ nior official said his country will be organising in October this year, a business forum in which Cameroonian companies have been invited to boost bu­ siness to business cooperation as well as business to govern­ ment agreements.
