South West: 1,000 Learners Receive Back-To- School Support

Mutengene (Fako) - Pupils and stu­ dents in Tiko Subdivision have recei­ ved educational materials through the third edition of the “Me Na You” Back-to-School Donation initiative. The donation ceremony took place on August 27, 2026 in Mutengene and was organised by Mola Paul Kombe Etoke, Senior Notable of the Mutengene Second Class Chiefdom, under the patronage of the Divisional Officer of Tiko Subdivision, Nokuri Samuel. Held under the theme, “Me and You: Empowering Young Minds, Securing Mutengene’s Future,” the initiative targeted nursery, primary and secon­ dary school learners preparing for the 2026/2027 academic year. Speaking at the ceremony, Mola Paul Kombe said he was privileged to give back to his community. He explained that the initiative seeks to comple­ ment government efforts to improve access to education while helping parents and guardians reduce the fi­ nancial burden of preparing their chil­ dren for school. The beneficiaries received school bags containing exercise books, led­ gers, rulers, pencils, erasers and pens.
